MEET RYAN COWSERT
NEW KIND OF LEADER FOR A BETTER SOUTH CAROLINA
Hi, my name Ryan Cowsert and I am running for Anderson County Council in District 6. I am a South Carolina native and also a father and husband to my beautiful wife and 4 daughters. I am also a Clemson University graduate.
I grew up in Columbia, SC and was raised by a single mother. My mom worked hard to provide what she could to both my brother and me. Although she didn't make much money, she gave both my brother and me all the love she possibly could. This enabled me to have a strong sense of family. This love of my family has made me to want to change how politics work in our state. Too often, politicians run unopposed and are not held accountable for their actions. This must change!
We need to create a County Council that listens to its citizens, becomes more transparent, and is held accountable when it fails to serve it's citizens.
I pledge to be a voice for the working class and for our teachers and police officers. I want to make this county better for everyone that lives here and to make it better for the next generation.
A county council has a fundamental responsibility to manage public finances responsibly, ensuring that it spends within its means while working to reduce the tax burden on its residents. Living within a balanced budget demonstrates fiscal discipline, builds public trust, and helps safeguard the county’s long-term financial stability. At the same time, striving to lower taxes encourages economic growth, supports local businesses, and eases the financial pressure on households. I will not vote to approve any budget that raises taxes or has a deficit. We must put ore money back in Anderson County resident's pockets!
